fun stuff
Mexico.
Mexico.
Here. I. Come.
There is nothing better than getting together with a bunch of people who are as crazy about photography as I am – in a place that I have yet to discover to network, learn, try new stuff and challenge each other – all while exploring yet another beautiful place of this world.
This kind of adventure combines many of my favorite things: traveling, meeting new people, being creative and taking photographs. wooot wooot. And if one of the people I get to hang out with is Jose Villa – well, what can I say – that’s the cherry on top of the cream on top of my chocolate ice :) It doesn’t get much more exciting.
Needless to say – I am super thrilled to announce that I will be in Mexico for the next week – joining Jose Villa’s 2012 workshop with many amazing people from all over the world.
Bags are (almost) packed and I am ready to go.
See you all next week.
Xoxo

New Welcome Page for Photography and More
I am so excited to announce that my new welcome page for the Photography and More website is up and running – thanks to my dear friend Leslie Mann of Leslie B. Design. When I came to her with my idea a few weeks back, none of us had a clue, weather or not my idea could be realized. But Leslie sat down and did some digging and researching and… well, she succeeded :) See for yourself what she made possible: Our New Welcome Page :)) Please let me know what you think of this new welcome page.
{My favorite little ladies} – CT Wedding and Children Photographer
It must have been almost two years ago by now, when Ivan and I took a random train home from NYC to Milford. When entering the train, we would have never guessed that we would make some wonderful friends on the ride home who we by now adore and admire. Well, that is exactly what happened :) We met Michelle and her three daughters that night – and once we started talking and joking and laughing on the train, everything around us was forgotten – unfortunately even Milford station. Before we knew it, we found ourselves in New Haven and Michelle was so sweet and drove us all the way back to Milford. Well, long story short – I simply love Michelle and the girls and enjoy every minute we get to hang out together. Today was one of those happy days – and I even got to take a few quick photos of the girls. Then – of course – it was time for some play time and a walk with the dogs (who love the girls just as much as I do) in the park.
Malenky, Remy and Kaatje always wear the coolest and funkiest cloth. Love all the bright colors!! And uuhhh – I am very jealous of these awesome curls!!
Thing is: They look just as gorgeous in black and white :)
Thanks my friends for stopping by today. Wishing you all the best for your appointment tomorrow!! Can’t wait to see you again soon – Xoxo.
Archways of Angkor – Cambodia | Photography and More Travel Impressions
The Khmer Empire started approximately 800 AD with Angkor as it’s seat. Between the 9th and 13th century, some of the world’s most magnificent architectural masterpieces were build here. There were well over 1000 temples in the area. In 1431, Angkor fell to it’s Ayutthayan invaders – ending the Khmer Empire. The whole region was soon abandoned – except for Angkor Wat, which remained a Buddhist Shrine for a little while longer.
Soon, Angkor was forgotten and the jungle took it over – burying the great monuments. In the 19th century, Angkor and it’s ruins were rediscovered and many of the temples have since been restored and protected. For a long time, Cambodia was a bloody war zone (Cambodian Civil War followed by the Red Khmer Regime). The Red Khmer are believed to have killed more than two million people (about 1/3 of Cambodia’s population). For a very long time, these wars made it impossible to visit the breathtaking historic sites of Angkor. In 1993, the king was reinstalled in Cambodia and Angkor became a UNESCO World heritage site. But only in the recent years has Cambodia finally been stable and safe to visit.
Today, Angkor is a mystical and magical place. Walking it’s grounds feels almost unreal – especially early in the morning when the sun slowly rises. This is the best time to visit if you are trying to avoid the masses and tourist groups.
While wandering around the temples and ruins, I couldn’t help but be fascinated by the amazing Archways, Galleries and Look Throughs of the various temple ruins. Often, the morning light created an extra mystifying glow – which had me in a ban and “awws”. Therefore, I decided to focus on exactly these Archways with my photographs.
Please enjoy the ARCHWAYS OF ANGKOR:

All images are available as prints on canvas upon request. If interested please contact me via email :)
Faszination Thailand | CT wedding and lifestyle photographer
.
The land of smiles. Thailand.
Wonderful, mystical, amazing, beautiful Thailand. This is where the journey is taking Ivan and myself for the next two and a half weeks. We will be backpacking thru Thailand and Cambodia – capturing an amazing country and its people. We are looking forward to an adventurous time in the jungle as well as to some relaxing days on the beach. Our goal is to get recharged and energized for the 2012 wedding season – and to discover more of the country that stole our hearts on our honeymoon three years ago.
These are some pictures – taken with my point and shoot – from 2009.
Something old, something new… | CT Wedding Photographer
… something borrowed, something blue…
Weddings are our passion. We enjoy every little detail about them. And because we want to not only be there to capture every minute of your wedding, but we would like to inspire and assist you along the way, Photography and More has now finally launched our new inspiring wedding platform: www.SOMETHINGVINTAGE.us
We are still working on adding more content to the page, but it is already worth a look (or so we think anyways – but maybe we are just overly excited?!). This new platform is designed to help you make your wedding unique and to provide even more “out of the box” ideas for your big day. We obviously know that there are already many many wedding blogs out there and we are by no means trying to compete with them (Guess what – we are not Style me Pretty or the knot – and we are not trying to be). But what we are going to do is to offer affordable ways and ideas, to make your wedding magical and unique without breaking the bank. So besides providing you with contact information to amazing local vendors, we have set up a DIY section where we will talk about different ways on how to create fun details for your wedding.
Last but not least, we wanted to give our past, current and future brides and grooms the chance, to share their experiences with us – and with one another. We feel that this kind of feedback is priceless – and will help everyone to create an amazing, relaxed event.
So go check it out – and please send us your feedback :) Also, if you are interested in specific wedding related topics, please let us know and we’ll do our best to write about it.
See you soon,
Stefanie
