Avery and Austin – a fun fall family session
Every fall I am getting very excited for my family sessions – and it is so great to see most families returning year after year. The kids know me by now and are just as excited to see us than we are to see them – and this by itself makes these sessions so very special.
Avery, Austin and their parents Cori and Will are one of these families that I hold dear to my heart. They are awesome and fun and there is no better hair cut than Austin’s Mohawk.
Avery was only a few months old when I fist met her – and she is such a big girl now :) And Austin – well – he is my new best friend!! I am still wondering what Cori and Will bribed him with – but he seriously was the BEST little man EVER for our shoot. Cori and Will got a good laugh out of him posing and laughing for me and my camera.
It didn’t take long until Avery tried copying her brother – how cute is she – and sooooo grown up :)
These might very well be my favorite pictures of the day – seeing these two together – interacting and playing on the beach was just to cute to handle. Austin is such a good big brother – and Avery – well – she certainly has her own will and lots of energy :)
What would a fall photo shoot be without golden foliage? Incomplete I would say :) So voila – here we go with some beautiful colors:
Austin is a big fan of stairs (and the jungle, cats and power rangers). So we decided to climb up to the observation tower – just for fun. And while up there, we took the opportunity and captured a fun family photo. Ivan was joking around behind me – and Avery decided it was time to bring out her best laugh. Thanks Ivan for being the best clown and children entertainer there is!
The cutest moment of the day was when Austin wanted to hold my hand – little charmer :) Told you – I have a new best friend!
Cori and Will – thanks a million for letting me capture your family photos again this year – I am excited for many more years to come :)

Cake Smash – Little Miss Sanya | CT Children Photographer
It’s hard to believe it has already been a full year since I was invited to take Sanya’s newborn photos. But yup – it really has been a year and the little cute bundle is now a sweet one year old lady with dark curls and the biggest black eyes I have ever seen – she is really to cute to be true!
So today was the day where Sanya was going to have some fun with her birthday cake. And while other one year olds sometimes hardly want to touch their cake, Sanya had no problem digging right in – with both hands – and yes, with her feed, too :) But hey – a real fun kid has to be messy, right? Plus – this way the bath it worth it today :)
So here we go – have fun with Sanya and her Birthday Cake Smash :)
Sweet Little Mister Zach – Connecticut Children Photographer
This post is mostly for Michelle, Joe and Zach – (and of course for the whole Shanahan Clan).
I hope the three of you had a great trip back to Vegas – you are already being missed here in good old New England. It was so good to see you and to hang out with the whole family. I know you enjoyed your visit and I hope these images make you smile. PS: When are you moving to CT? wink wink. Thanks for an awesome time – and hanks for letting me grab a few quick photos of your sweet little Zach. I am obsessed with his freckles – so cute!
How cute is this little guy! Seriously! I have never seen anyone make a better fish mouth than him! (Yes, I have tried and failed miserably – lol). Thanks Ivan Kapra for capturing this face perfectly!
Zach LOVEs playing Peak-a-boo – Don’t you just want to go and cuddle him??
It was really to cute to watch. Photo on the left by Ivan – photo on the right by Stefanie :)
We can’t wait to see you again – hopefully very soon!
Xoxo,
Stefanie and Ivan!
{My favorite little ladies} – CT Wedding and Children Photographer
It must have been almost two years ago by now, when Ivan and I took a random train home from NYC to Milford. When entering the train, we would have never guessed that we would make some wonderful friends on the ride home who we by now adore and admire. Well, that is exactly what happened :) We met Michelle and her three daughters that night – and once we started talking and joking and laughing on the train, everything around us was forgotten – unfortunately even Milford station. Before we knew it, we found ourselves in New Haven and Michelle was so sweet and drove us all the way back to Milford. Well, long story short – I simply love Michelle and the girls and enjoy every minute we get to hang out together. Today was one of those happy days – and I even got to take a few quick photos of the girls. Then – of course – it was time for some play time and a walk with the dogs (who love the girls just as much as I do) in the park.
Malenky, Remy and Kaatje always wear the coolest and funkiest cloth. Love all the bright colors!! And uuhhh – I am very jealous of these awesome curls!!
Thing is: They look just as gorgeous in black and white :)
Thanks my friends for stopping by today. Wishing you all the best for your appointment tomorrow!! Can’t wait to see you again soon – Xoxo.
Cambodia teaser | Connecticut Lifestyle Photographer
Cambodia is an amazing, fascinating and colorful place to visit and I strongly recommend for everyone to travel there.
The people are wonderful, warmhearted and welcoming and there a a lot of great programs in place (from unesco as well as various countries and other NGO organization) to help the local people achieve a higher standard of living. New water pumps and filters are being build in several places to provide the people with clean water, schools and hospitals are being supported and much much more. And the tourism helps this country to grow after long years of terrible war and fighting.
Despite the fact that most Cambodians are extremely poor, they are unbelievably happy and willing to work hard and take chances. I feel, we can learn so much from their culture and attitude.
Here are a few first Cambodian country side impressions. I shot most of these pictures while driving around on an old bike in 95 degree Fahrenheit… :)
Children in the street. The two fingers up is a sign for peace and happiness.
Lunch time.
Fishermen.
Women street workers.
Family passing a rice field. Bikes and Motorbikes are still the most popular means of transportation in Cambodia.
Another family on their bike. I saw up to five people riding on a bike together.
Children washing their hair.
Sweet little Cambodian girl.
More pictures and stories will follow soon.
Oh happy day. | Connecticut Children and Wedding Photographer
…
This morning I was woken up by the sun shining thru my bedroom window – lovely. Shortly after my dog Ziva demanded her morning cuddle time – what a great start into the day. I must admit, I already miss photographing weddings on weekends a little bit – but I do enjoy not having to rush out of bed on a Saturday morning but to wake up to the sun and the birds and sweet doggy kisses instead. And I still got some photography in today – shooting a christmas card session with one of my last years foster puppies and their adopters and afterwards I had a little family session at Boothe Memorial Park. The weather was nice and everyone seemed to have a really good time.
And while out there at the park, waiting for my client, I caught this squirrel on camera – who was having a good time, chewing on nuts while enjoying the view and the sun. Somehow I felt this picture was a good symbol for today’s day. Relaxed and happy :)
Happy weekend :)
A Stroll on Laurel Beach | Milford, CT Children Photographer
Meet princess Zoe – isn’t she just too cute to be true?
When I headed out to Laurel Beach in Milford today, thick fog was hanging over the beach – giving it an almost unreal and mystical look. It reminded me a lot of the fog over the fields in my hometown. When I was little, I was sometimes a little scared of it – but it has always fascinated me, too.
Little Miss Zoe seemed little impressed by the fog – nor was she scared. But then again – she had her favorite buddy protecting her – and her new cute pink sweater dress from The Gap was shining bright thru the fog :)
I had a lot of fun taking Zoe’s photos today – she is such an incredibly sweet young lady with big brown eyes and the cutest smile (well, if she feels like smiling anyways. She can be quite stubborn in times. But a good old children song got her to laugh quite alright).
This is only a tiny sneak peak – more pictures will follow after Christmas. For now they have to remain a little secret for Zoe’s mommy and daddy :)
Fairfield Children Portraits – a Fundraiser | Connecticut Children Photographer
Two weeks ago, I had the honor and pleasure to shoot lots of children and families as a fundraiser for a school in Fairfield with Brooke. So on a rather frigid Saturday morning, Brooke and I each had eight great families and their children lining up – eager to get a nice picture for their Christmas card. It for sure was a bit of a marathon – but at the same time it was a lot of fun and we raised some good money for the school. Most kids had never had professional photos taken and they all were excited to work with us. Sure enough, there we some exceptions to that rule, too – but I guess that comes with the age. We still managed to bribe them just enough so we could get a nice photograph :) Go ahead and see for yourself:
Blue eyed boy – and what a gorgeous smile.
Daddy and his precious girls
What a cutie.
This little one had so much fun climbing around in the trees – so I grabbed this candid shot.
And here he is again – tree lover.
Curious look on a cute little princess – priceless.
Someone did not want his picture taken – for all his stubbornness he still looks pretty darn cute…
This little lady was too cute to be true and super sweet to work with – she did so well and I love the happiness in these pictures.
Toddler on the run :)
These pics were taken against the sun – for some extra glow, sun flare and a soft, milky, vintage look.
Sister cuddle time…
These parents got so inspired that they asked to get their photo taken, too. And how sweet are they!??
Thank you every one for your cooperation and for making this event a lot of fun!
There is still a little time to take Christmas card pictures – contact me if you are interested.
