DIY Weddings make my heart sing – I can’t help but to fall in love with amazing and fun details. Add the sweetest and dearest couple to the mix (Carrie and Matt), along with the rustic and gorgeous location of The Barns at Wesleyan and you get a beautiful, love filled wedding. Carrie and Matt celebrated their love with family and friends and could not stop smiling and glazing at one another. The sun was glowing in the sky and their special day even more gorgeous.
It all started with this amazingly beautiful wedding dress from The White Dress by the Shore and Carrie’s elegant wedding shoes.

And it continued with the fun sports team cufflinks of the guys:

The flowers were OUT OF CONTROL – they were all self made by a friend of Carrie’s and her family. The attached family brooch added a very personal touch to the bridal bouquet.

The bridesmaids bouquets were just as pretty.

The church was lined with flowering Boxwood Trees…

… and these two little ladies were to cute to be true :)

Carrie and Matt held hands throughout their entire wedding ceremony. And look how happy they are!

The light was so beautiful outside that I had to take a few candid shots of some bridesmaids and guests after the ceremony. And yes – there were those wonderful flowers again – lol.

The reception took place at The Barns at Wesleyan. One of my all time favorite CT wedding venues.

First things first: The wedding party. With the sun high up in the sky, the only shaded spot was along the barn – and I really liked that big window in the back with the reflections of the trees.

The tree branches perfectly framed my images – and I couldn’t help but grab a shot thru Brooke‘s arm :).

Love birds.

And then it happened – Carrie lost her brooch – and after a few shocking minutes, Matt found it. Thank god. I told you – these two are meant for each other :)).

Time for delicious snacks and drinks – Cocktail hour.

Back to these amazing DIY Wedding details. The wooden card box was hand made by Carrie’s dad, the Raspberry Jam was made by her family and look at these old vintage window frames with the photos and the wooden place card holders. Such cute ideas.

And excuse me – how nice are these rustic and vintage Mrs and Mrs signs? They fit perfectly into the barn.

Carrie and Matt could not have made Brooke and myself any happier than to purchase the lantern package from The Barns at Wesleyan. They created a very romantic atmosphere.

Carrie and Matt’s First Dance was very touching and romantic – under the lanterns. It almost made me shed a tear.

Father Daughter Dance.

And then the party began :)

Last but not least, the guests were send home with the nicest DIY wedding favors: self made jam and “yes, I do” wine.

Once again: Congratulations Carrie and Matt. I am so happy for both of you. May you always be as happy as on your amazing wedding day!
